Free lesson 1 of 11 from Python for Hackers — Stop using tools — build your own. Scanners, brute-forcers and clients, all against your live range.. No account, no card.
nmap and hydra are great — until you hit a weird protocol, a custom login, or a target with no tool for it. Then you write 20 lines of Python and own it anyway. Python is the hacker's duct tape: sockets, HTTP, parsing and automation with almost no boilerplate.
In this course you'll rebuild the tools you used in Network & System Security — a port scanner, a banner grabber, a login brute-forcer, a Redis client — in pure Python, and run them against the same MegaCorp range (10.0.0.2–10.0.0.4). Everything is standard-library only, so it runs in your offline lab with zero installs.
nano scanner.py # write code
python3 scanner.py # run it against the range
# or one-liners:
python3 -c 'print("hello from your hacking box")'
python3 --version
python3 -c 'print([f"10.0.0.{i}" for i in (2,3,4)])'
# ['10.0.0.2', '10.0.0.3', '10.0.0.4']⚖️ Authorized testing only — point your tools at the lab range or systems you own.
